dreaded invitations....

invitations. how do i start? well, I am sure I was talking about how much I like the old fashioned looking things? Its hard to describe what I mean, but I think if you saw it you'd know. Well, this design style reminds me of it. It's the invitations at storkies.com. Theyre fully customizable too!
Like skin tone, hair, eye shape... all of that. And they make matching things, like postage and stickers to close envelopes. Save the date cards, invitations, bridal shower, rehearsal, bach parties.. all of them have invitations and theyre allllll super cute. This is some of the ideas. I might look other places too, but I am in definate like with these ones.

wedding cakes........

Okay, so I have always found "topsy turvy" cakes to be gorgeous, in a weird way. Dr Suess type, maybe. Like the one above. However, while looking at pictures at a grand wedding, I had a brilliant idea of inspiration. Why not have one large cake which is really just a lot of petit fours, all stacked together? Well, turns out this isnt a new idea...

as you can tell by each of these. As I have also read, you can do one little cake, and have a LOT of petit fours in the back which then get passed out. I even saw some petit fours you could order online for like 1.25 each or something...
Anyway. Just the beginning of what I was thinking about. I guess I could also go the cupcake route, but that seems a little overdone right now. Although common ground cupcakes does have AMAZING gourmet cupcakes, and i think they cater for sort of cheap... Hm. Well, they have 2 dollar each ones, the "regular" ones, and you can get special ones for somewhere between 3 and 5 dollars each...

Venues thus far....

well, i am now engaged. so.. yeah. this will hopefully keep me a little less stressed, and also keep things and potentials out there. and also keep links for me. and a way to show the bridesmaids. haha.
So, there's a fwe different options as far as venues for the wedding. The First, and possibly most viable based on Daniel's verdict is Kubota Garden. I really have to call them and see how much it would be... But it is a public park, so I doubt it will be that much.

Pros:
- GORGEOUS (photo on the left is one i shot from there... not exactly where i think the weddings happen, but still)
- Cheap (?)
- Garden area.. which i love, in a weird way.
Cons:
- If it rains... it pours. Unless the major wedding favor for people is an umbrella! Though I personally like rain. but anyway.

if we went ahead with Kubota, we couldnt really do the reception there... but there is a cool place called Q Cafe. This is a little not for profit cafe, if i remember right.. and they rent out the space.

Pros:
- Cute, in a weird way.
- Looks basically predecorated?
- We could hire a barista, for 10$ an hour.. I doubt this includes the price of drinks, but it leaves options open...
- Cheap. Base rate is 100$ per hour, plus having required people... so, at least 15. If we kept the audio guy and the barista, its 140 per hour.
Cons:
- Somewhere in seattle. Who knows where, right? Well, I am sure I could look, right? But still. haha.
- Maybbbbbe kind of small? I dont know. It seats 100 if everyone is sitting, it sits like.. 240 if standing. I dont know how they would feel about bringing in food.

The next would be... Tracy Castle. This place is really pretty...

But costs an estimated 10k. Now, that might be including all of their own venues.. well, most of them. catering, and flowers, and all.. however, this is unknown for certain, and i think i can get a better deal. sounds like the 10k is for convenience. so... yeah.
But, can host the reception here.

And the last.. so far, at least, Thornewood Castle. Another castle (ha, ha, i know.)

Which is a venue, in and of itself. And its season hours are like 3.5k. Off season, in winter, is 2.9 or something. So, really expensive for something unnecessary.
However, it has indoor and outdoor places, and it also can host the reception
So, this is it for now, with venue. I kind of like the Kubota option, though Daniel isnt sure he likes it... anyway. Tell me what you guys think.
